| Druid |
| Nature is a druid’s ally. Druids are in tune with nature; thus, their magics are nature based, drawing from the spiritual forces of both plants and animals. Whether calling forth roots to entangle an enemy, or using nature’s life-giving essence to heal themselves or others, druids are the masters and servants of Nature. The dedication necessary to become a druid is great; druids can only be found among the halfling, human and elf races. Druids have a love for all animals, but that does not mean all animals love druids. Although a druid will do what he or she can to avoid harming one of nature’s beasts, many animals see a druid as just another source of food. This is no reflection of the piety of the druid, mind you, but rather of the simple minds of beasts. Druids, like shamans, have the ability to aid others in many ways, making both desirable members in hunting parties.

Path preferences is mostly determined on how one plays. I have a 60 Wildling and I'm very happy with the toon. Storm Caller would also be nice, but I'm not trying to do damage with my Druid.

for post one id like to say that itll be hard to make a proficient soloer (espessially 30+). But if youre little heart is set on it, i sudjest LOTS of Stamina and AGI, and HP, and def mod cms. You see, legend has it that druids are 2 parts healer and one part caster. Which can be true, ive found that at higher levels, if you own the Charm cms (Which have really made a turn around in druid damage). DoT path seems nice, but ive heard it has been nerfed but revamped, and havent had any word on the current damage of it (Most higher levels that went DoT had their characters fixed to heal path). You see the reason this game is so difficult to solo proficently is because they tweaked the characters to NEED others, which kind of takes the fun outa things. Druids Can kite, but not as proficent as one would hope. (Kiting is the act of nuking and rooting a mob, or nuking/snaring a mob) Now then, as for a tag, if you so wish to stay damage, i sudjest either picking between Were-hunter, or Storm caller. The were hunter mca nuke from what im told is 1250 damage and 500 tick damage there after. The SC nuke i know forsure is 1358 damage with a 15% dex mod. with 465 dex one can do roughly 1509 damage. Its recast is 7 seconds, with a power cost of 393. The second MCA is a mob debuff, which basicly is a gauranteed proc when hit (extra damage each time its hit, per swing or cast).
For the second post: its really youre call on which you which to go, ill provide info for each.
Storm caller: see above for CMA's Tag gives 50 dex max, 500 mana and 25LR.
Wilding: Tag gives 500 hp,+15 movement rate 50wis max and 10 to each resist. Wild nature is a form change (like wolf form). it gives 120str/agi, and 1200hp. Wild Growth is an AoE heal tick: Targetable heal for (650+(CHA/4)) plus (350+(CHA/4)) on players in AE range.
Race Tag: please refer to hodstock.com for more info, since theres more than one race that can become a druid, theres to much to list ;)
Diviner: 50wis max 250mana 15sta, agi, dex, and cha and 15pot. Soothing prayer is said to be an aggro reducer. Divine touch is a Stacking heal for (700 + (CHA/4)). 668 power, 3 cast, 27 recast.
For the third post: I personally went Werelion, i was the first on the marrs fist server to get it done. To be honest, ive NEVER used the lion forms unless im just showing off in FP or something. BUT, at level 40 the ability Lions Nobility is a 115cha buff, which lasts roughly 10 mins, and stacks with yer previous cha buff. I personally found this at my advantage because the buff freed up a few pieces of needed stat armor. As for were hunter, you'd have to look around on this site, i can almost gaurantee it gives info on the tag =)
For post four? yeah i think thats what im on: Wild runner is a useless CM, but apparently you can attain the Speed of sow (SoS)through wildrunner and the Looping stride CM's (apparently you can get faster than SoS, but this is purely speculation, i dont know one druid who owns the Looping stride Cms). Now this COULD be useful, IE taking aggro from youre dying tank and running like a wild bashee. Racing friends, making pizza deliveries ECT. but hey then you have ports =)
Post 5: yes it does rid you of yer wolf forms, but Yes you can still use the group wolf form buff. its a neat trick, but no respectable 45+ wants this wonderful buff, i mean shesh, it only GIVES 75str/agi and 300hp, i mean HEY who wants THAT!? lowbies usually ask for this buff, just to be different. In my opinion, its one of the best buffs a druid can use.
A few tips: Look theres a big misconseption that yer blinking green stats (other wise known as power pool stats) increase youre heal. Well, im sorry to be the pin that bursts yer bubble but-youre wrong-. Charisma is the mod for heals, and depending on each healer class, the mod is different. Druids have the lowest mod (meaning it takes more cha to have a higher heal) Shamans come in second, and clerics have the highest mod (low charisma for high heals). I HIGHLY RECOMEND adding points to Sta and AGI and buying some def mods, even if you dont plan on soloing, i say this because CHA=AGGRO, no matter HOW good yer tank is, be ready to heal yourself. Feel free to Over heal, keep everyone healthy, it only takes one mistake to get the group killed, even if it isnt yers. Be nice to lowbies, just remember that everyone needed help at some point. In my opinion, druids Could be the most versitle class in the game, if you plan on going storm caller, load up on mana, and use yer other casting abilities as well. Become well equiped, meaning what ever mob type yer after, be ready for it (Say yer at a group of casters, use yer FR/Cr buff, or buy AR armor for fighting healer mobs) but the greatest of all advice i can say is to use yer head! use commonsense when doing anything in the game! have fun and good luck, feel free to contact me on marrs fist if you need help

Any help would be appreciated :)

i dont know alot about paths for druids, but the DoT seems ok. for the MC i think wilding cuz of the "Wild Nature" MCA, which is a form that gives 120+ str/agi, and 1200+ hp.

I am going Wilding myself, to try and offset the missing HP Thing, I have put some points in my Sta, have a 150 Base (Also req. for Wilding MC) and I worked on my AC.
Group AC Cms give you 50AC Base for each One you take.
Right now I have 1926 AC Buffed up and I live in my buffs. I buff grp rq and then buff myself so when mine drops it will be time to buff up again for all.
To answer for Damage question:
You can help you Dmg in spells with Dex which also happens to be the Power Pot points for us nehoo!
Remember to keep high Dex, Wis, Cha , Sta and you should be okay.
Remmber that you can wear lots of good equipment!
If your 35+ and have money issues, get a group to go raid with you, I suggest Siloths. Max stax on rings can sell for 250k+!!
And about Wilding Forms, who needs wold buff when you get to the MC! Goto www.hodstock.com to look up Wilding better for your self!

Does anyone know if you went "Were-something" (Exmaple Ww) if you can still go onto your Race/class MC??
I got an 40 Warr Ww and I want to know if I can still go for my MC or am I fuked on it??

Anyway, there is a requirement of “Wild Runner” which seems to be a complete waste since I basically live my life with SOW up, and if it’s not up it’s still on my cast bar. Does this stack at all on my SOW? Better than? Worse then? Or am I just being slammed with a cost of 35 CM’s with no gain?
As mentioned in my last submission i recommend treant armor when you reach 13 (this will make you a god at early levels) and heartsblood when you reach 23 and it's first available. Heartsblood has a good wisdom bonus which will increase your power. I recommend diamond jewelry for groups, its first available at lev 23. You might consider blue diamond jewlry at 33 since this gives 70 power per piece, but it doesnt improve any stats and doesn't give much health boost. I'm gonna experiment with both soloing and questing, but may stick to the plain diamond jewelry just for the heartiness it gives me with the health, ac, and cha bonuses. Until i reached level 33 i wore 2 fluted rings in groups as this gave me cha of 26 per ring, for a total of 52 cha for both. now I think the 18 cha im getting from the level 33 jewelry might be enough not to bother with the fluted rings anymore.
A little comparison of the 3 healer classes. I've played practically every class to 30 and prefer healers for soloing. For all the damage that other classes can deal out, being able to heal yourself I think is more significant for going out on your own. I've played shamon, cleric, and druid to 33. Shamon is a tough character to manage with all the spells. Especailly when I was playing it in the prefrontier days when you could only prepare 5 spells at a time, this was a huge hassle. They also take quite a while to kill things with limited attack spells. They do have sow and invis which is very convenient. However, I think the worst thing about a shamon is that one of their prime stats is sta. This is a horrible prime stat for a non-tank. You just dont get enough health bonus for it. The health you get from armor like treant or heartsblood or diamond jewelry will dwarf whatever bonus you get from sta. Nontheless I put all my training points into sta with my shamon since it was a prime stat. I think the fact that sta is a prime stat for a shamon makes this character just unplayable in my eyes, I tell it like I see it. As for clerics, it was a very close call between making my future main a cleric or druid. Two very nice things about clerics are: 1. They can wear metal armor, specifically mindflow amor. This means their potential ac is several hundred points higher than the druid can reach. 2. Their prime stats are cha and wis. In my mind these are the perfect prime stats for a healer, particularly the cha. The biggest agony I've had with my druid is whether to put any training points into cha, which I haven't so far. I wouldn't have this problem with the cleric. Since its a prime stat I would probabley put all my training pionts into cha (my cleric I ran a year ago on another account so I cant access it now to see what I did with the points). If it is the main prime stat (one of the prime stats you get twice the pow bonus as the other) I would definately put all my training points into it. However, the main problem with a cleric for a player who likes to explore and solo like me, is the same as is it for the shamon, it can't deal much damage. With the druid you have a DOT spell, a better on if your on damage path, and also direct damage spells such as lightning and combust, lightning does about 300 and combust about 200. I think a 30 level cleric has just one significant damage spell, which does 200. When you soloing self healing casters its crucial to deal damage quickly. Finally clerics never get sow or invis, which make them a huge hassle to explore and solo with. Although its a close call, at this point I think the druid is the best character for players who want to explore and solo, and with less and less players in the game it's more important to be able to solo the quests.

Can't exactly say I agree, HB is more for casters like Nacros, or for tanks. I think you would benefit MUCH more from having armor with CHA or WIS, and then as much CHA and WIS as you can get from other jewelery and weapons, remember, tho you may have the spells to deal damage, your primary objestive is to heal, so if I were you, and I'm not, but if I were, I would stop adding to dex for a while, your base dex should be good for a while, and focus on making your heals stronger.
Shamans make awsome MTs at high levels and can solo the crap out of many mobs, I have a buddy on FH who I will not name incase he wouldn't want me to, but he is in PoZ and can solo dreadnaughts...I think he has done this on a few seperate occasions...but I know he can do it, in fact, he tought me how to MT one with my 60 Cleric.

Training, Item Points and Soloing
I have put virtually all my training points in dexterity so far. I have bought items to bring my strength and agility to about what my dexterity is. I have put no points into charisma, intelligence, wisdom or stamina.
I should start by saying I've developed my character to be a great soloing character. I consistenty solo reds several levels above me and have found myself advancing faster soloing than grouping, since so much time is wasted travelling to places like deathfist citidel just to have people quit 5 minutes after getting there, then waiting half an hour to get a tank or whatever. Also after you've played a couple years grinding becomes very tiresome and its nice to be able to solo all the quests at the same level you get them, which I have been able to do with this druid. After playing almost all character types to level 30 I have found the druid to be the best soloing character, mainly because they can heal themselves and have spells such as regenerative aura, damage spells, and the dot spell line, particularly the dot path line starting with Enkindle. You want to be able to deal a lot of damage quickly against casters who can heal themselves, and with Enkindle, Lightning and Cumbust you can ultimately wittle down the casters. One point worth mentioning here, I have found that mob casters often run out of power eventually, so if you can survive for a few minutes till they run out you will have an easy time of it at that point.
Charisma
"You should put all points into charisma if you're a healer" is a refrain I consistently hear. Well I don't plan to put a single point into charisma for some time and this is why. I experimented with equiping cha items to see just how much higher my healing is for each point of cha. I was dismayed it takes about 5 points of cha to increase your heal by just 1 point per tick. For me putting 5 points into char would raise my heals from about 187 to 188 per tic. Not a good deal I think. Now if you plan to spend your druid life grinding away in groups watching everyone else wasting the mobs, then be all means put everything into cha, as that is all your tank is gonna care about. I want my druids life to be a bit more exciting. If I plan on grouping can buy some charisma rings or earrings for about 5K each.
Stamina
I don't put anything into stamina for the same reason as i don't put any into charisma, you don't get enough hit points for each stamina point (it works out to about 2.5 hit points per stamina point). But for stamina there is another reason not to waste points there. You can do far better by getting extra hit points in items. For example, treant armor will give you so many extra hit points (not to mention ac and power) that the extra hit and power points you get as a bonus from into sta and your two main stats (wis and dex for druid) will be fairly insignicant.
Wisdom
As mentioned under the stamina paragraph the power bonus you get is not enough to put points here.
Int
This stat is for weapons procs. according to this site it also helps spell procs, but i am not familiar with any spells that have procs. I can't see putting any points here.
Dexterity, Strenth, and Agility
These three are the only stats i bother with and here is why. Agility is 1/3 your defense according to this site, and in my experience this seems to be true. It is also cheap AC since you dont have to repair agility like you do armor. I once hunted with a druid that had put everthing into agility, training points and items, and he really seemed invulnerable. However, you also want to be able to kill things in a reasonable amount of time. Thus also having points in dex and str is a must. According to this site str and dex also give you a bonus to your damage spells:
"Direct Damage spells have a dexterity mod on them that will increase the damage the spell does based on the casters dexterity score."
"Direct Damage abilities have a strength mod on them that will increase the damage the ability does based on the caster’s strength score."
This was surprising as you'd think these stats wouldn't affect spells. Also the wording is slightly different for strength than dex, the word "abilities" is used for the strength description and "spells" is used for the dex description, but spells are abilities. I still have to experiment on how much extra damage a point of str or dex will give for spells like Combust, but I plan to find out and will report it on this forum. of course str and dex also help for weapon damage, but against reds your spell damage will be more significant.
Item points vs Training points
I have concentrated by training points on dex and items points from rings, necklace and earrings on str and agi. I have done this since down the road I expect for master classes that depend on a character's main stats, which for druids is dex and wis, I suspect that item points will not count. Thus all the points I have in dex I want to be in base stats and not from items. Does anyone know if master class point minimums have to be all from base? I would think they would.
Damage against Reds vs other colors
One surprising thing I've noticed is that even though weapon damage varies greatly depending on what color mob you are fighting, spell damage does not. Enkindle does about a 100 per tick and Combust about 210 per cast no matter if i'm fighting greens or red. For this reason if your soloing mobs much higher than you or doing your path quests alone, your spells will be doing almost all of your damage. As long as you have high armor class and agility to weather the hits you can steadilly cut down the boss mobs' hit points down in 2 or 3 minutes even if they are red. This is also why caster mobs are so dangerous to most characters. Even if they are green, like the runeye goblins, they still do big damage with their spells since color doesn't matter with spells. Fortunately druids have a buff that raises protection against the elemental damage most caster mobs give.
Fast Experience Trick
Here is a way to take advantage of the fact spell damage does not vary with opponent level while non-spell damage does. When you get into an area with a lot of light blues, cast a dot (damage over time) spell on 5 or 6 of them at once, then run around a bit while the spell works on them as they chase you (Enkindle will do about 100 per tick for 4 ticks). After 4 ticks cast your dot spell on all of them again. Run around some more and they will die one by one as they chase you. Since they are light blue even if when they all hit you at once during the time you cast the second round of dots, you will easily survive the non-spell damage with a heal spell. You can do this with dark blues too, but be sure to have good AC and agility and it helps to be skilled at kiting (i hope i'm using that term in the right sense here).
Path Choice
I went the DOT path since I wanted to give better damage with my character. Unfortunately Enkindle does not stack with Creeping Crud, but it still currently does better damage than Creeping Crud. If you check the spell section of this site under druid spells there is just one comment:
"This line was once very powerful..too powerful in the eyes of EQOA.
Thus, they lowerd the damage by too much and now this line is very limited in its uses. Many would suggest to take the heal path instead."
It also says Enkindle does 39 damage per tick for 24 seconds. This would make it about half as powerful as Creeping Crud which you get anyway no matter which path you take(!). Apparently they have raised back a bit as i found it now to give about 100 (surprisingly this damage has varied, i have to experiment on whether dex and str affect dot spells too).
In the same spell section it says Creeping Health gives 56 per tic (plus cha bonus) for 12 seconds. i have counted out a tick to be about 10 seconds, but maybe they consider it to be 6. For a cost of 230 this does not seem like a good deal. Particularly as Healing spell only costs 200 according to the site.
For me the DOT pth was the clear choice since the damage is no longer the ridiculus 39. But I like to explore and solo. If you plan to just support group grinds you might consider Creeping Crud for emergencies, although even here Enkindle can help your group kill the mob.
Regenarative Aura
I have found when i have this spell cast on myself i get 4 ticks of heal instead of just 3 ticks when I cast Healing on myself. This also has been the case when I cast it on other characters. However, I once had a tank get pissed off that I cast Regenerative Aura on him since, according to him, it reduces healing to every other tick instead of every tick when Healing is cast. I have not found this to be the case personally, but would welcome any comments on this.
Treant Armor
My buffed character stats (including lupine guise and ward elements and steelskin) without treant armor and creathly's tunic at level 26 is: AC 548 HP 824 Pow 1303
My buffed character stats with treant armor and creathly's tunic (and at level 26 is: str 198 sta 60 agi 172 dex 180 wis 85 int 60 cha 57 AC 818 HP 1214 Pow 1418. Crethleys tunic is -15 to cha but i still wear it for the 20 str. The disadvantage with treant armor is you don't get any ability bonuses. For me the hardiness this armor gives me is worth far more the the ability bonuses I would get with other items. I'm usually stronger than the tanks I group with. Also as casters we rely on our spells more then weapons anyway. When i'm level 27 I'll be moving to the next level of treant armor which will raise my AC, HP and Power even more.

1. Those who make things happen
2. Those who watch things happen
3. Those who wonder what just happened
I am definetly the third kind
Druids get Wolf form as a basic starting at lvl.20
It adds some nice Str and Sta and get HP Bonus. I suggest if you do not like argo to do Fire Path (Dmg path) on a Dru. The Heal is not all that great low lvl, I have heard. Just please! Make sure if you pick a path (Like it tells you in game but...) Please go that one path all the way thru, you will get a better abil. at the end.
For Druids make sure you have okay Sta, we seem to pull hella argo at time :)
Then key points I guess are Char, Wis, Dex and Agil.
Wisdom and Dex are your pwrpools I think (IE: Higer it is, MORE PWR)
Now other Druid forms are cool and help later on.
Natures Sway - Faerie LVL 29 get Cha Dex PoT and some Pwr. Same goes for Bees at lvl.20 form
Then I hear the next lvl up forms and cool and the Wilding forms rock!
At lvl. 51 you can get Tree form as a CM.
It roots the caster, turns you into tree (Duh) and get Hella PoT HoT (Pwr Over Time , Health over Time) and some other stats I am not 100% sure of right now, been a bit since I looked at Hodstock.com
So when it comes down to it.
I like Druids, I have made a semi-name for myself and always get groups and my Buddies love me. I am not the best, just better then most :)
And it also depends on your player stlye!
Clr have the "Best heals" I am told, but now "sow" or "Invis" but get the best Rez and have ah-some AC becuase of plate.
Druids I have seen are like the middle healer. Semi-good DD and hlr in one.
**IDC what anyone has to say about Druids** For those who hate us :..(
Sha heals are on par with a Dru (I am told from Shammies) but have good Sta and take Dmg well, other then that I do not know much else about Shammies)
Well beofre I start to offened anyone :()
I hope I made sense!

My stats stay around the same when I buy new armour or get it, I make sure stats are =, I try to not worry about my AC.

I am going with my Wilding MC becuase I have all the cms for it ATM, but I also have a back up and almost have all the Divener Reqs. I just need to get me Dex base to 250 I think... Or 200 I 4got...
Anyhoo,
If you got feed back on how I am doing with my Toon or any Suggestions, itd be nice :)

AlaKore CLW 20 Ench (Evil Deedz)
Mandragoon CLW 30 Pally (Evil Deedz)
Obsidinn CLW 20 Mage (Evil Deedz)
Sta should be higher than agi.
You're still doin pretty good i think, not sure.

But get cha and wis very high. Higher stam and dont add anymore agi IMO. A lil more dex (Depending on MC.)
Becuase of Item Change and I went back to Wolf form I had to change my stats.
85 Str
125 Sta
120 Agi
215 Dex
Wis 340
Int 120
Cha 377
IDK- I like to go Stormcaller, but the Storm Coat does not allow you to AC buff urself. Or to go Wilding. I have Cm's going for both MC's. I dont have second Nature Sway yet, Working on it. Does anyone have any idea what would be cool MC?
I like to do Damage, but my forms are fun... and I like my AC buff... I am told my heals are good for peoples! I only had one tank yell at me for having low heals, but grp said he uber bad tank (Someone said they talked with him and he had put more into Dex and Agil then Str and Sta) So I hope I am doing good. Wish I had more time to play and work on my Dru, but RL calls first :(
Sinenian** you Rock! I have seen lots of your post and you seem to be smart!

I have gone with my Dru as my main Toon. I was bored one day and went to hobstock. And I found out that I am going Wilding with out even trying. I didn't want to look at the CM break down but I did. The funny thing is, I am a Werewolf so I change into that form, but at same time I have my Nature forms (More pwr & PoT).
What I want to know is, at lvl.51 am I going to be able to take tree form?
Then will I still be able to use my Nature Forms?
Plus an FYI:
When you are a Were anything. If you get caught by a hunter that turns you into your form (NOT EVIL MARK! which i h8, but thats part of Were forms so meh) Make sure you have a Form on first (IE: Wolf form or nature forms) becuase it will stack with your Were form. Which may be cheating at little. BUT IT ROCKS HAVING TWO FORMS ON!!!

i am thinkin about goin immortal for my mc on the count of i like the buff and stat boosts. i dont want to be a wildling cause as a dd/healer i favor dd more and stormcaller also seemed a good choice too.
ty for the info
oh and is the charm line worth it i saw a druid usin it before and it seemed to be workin well.

IMO diviner would be a good Raid and Grouper. You can stack heal and lower agro. I sugject Diviner or maybe Immortal.

But the racial tag is pretty good for your power if you dont want to have to have a battery. Storm Caller gets a pretty strong nuke, about 2500. Wilding im not sure what they get.

No one says to put all your tp's there but I would advise it eventually. Druids don't get to wear heavier armor , so our armor class and hp sucks though the natureskin buffs help.
Having the ability to survive some hits if the tank loses aggro will make gameplay better.
Also the nukes are not mana efficient unless there is a bard or enchanter around, of course at lvl 51 that wont be a problem with the Tree Form. =)
Anyway thats just my thoughts on the subject.
