ZAM Network is proud to announce our second large scale League of Legends beta key giveaway. Thanks to our friends at Riot Games, we're giving away 20,000 keys to the community in the next couple of days. Don't want to wait that long? No problem! If you're a ZAM Premium member you'll have access to a code immediately. There's never been a better time to sign-up for our premium service.

If you're unfamiliar with the game, League of Legends is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game similar to the popular Warcraft III mod, Defense of the Ancients (DotA). It's also a game that we've been watching closely because of its fun, session based, competitive gameplay that keeps players engaged via rich community features and persistent MMORPG elements. Not sold? Check out some of our coverage.

This year we decided to cover PAX more aggressively than we have in the past and one of the by-products of that choice is our first annual PAX Awards. Even though the convention focuses on tabletop, PC and console games -- MMOs were featured extensively, demonstrating that they continue to become more and more popular in the gaming world. As such, due to our MMO focus we had to be extremely selective about what kind of awards we gave out and who we gave them to. Ultimately, this was not an easy task as all of our nominations are great games. This was especially difficult when it came to selecting the winner for "Best in Show". In the end, tough decisions were made and it's time to reveal those decisions to the world. Without further ado, the Winners!

According to Kotaku, PAX officials have confirmed a case of the H1N1 flu virus (more commonly known as "Swine Flu") at PAX. Due to the size of the event and the sheer nature of shoulder to shoulder walking traffic at conventions, it's entirely possible that this years Penny Arcade Expo was in fact a breeding ground for the virus.

Moments ago, Penny Arcade's Robert Khoo advise anyone who attended PAX that now has a confirmed case of Swine Flu to email him with your flight information. It's important to understand that while we refuse to jump on the "Swine Flu will turn us into Zombies" bandwagon, this can be a serious ailment for some and it's our responsibility to get the information out there. If you were at PAX over the weekend and have any symptoms, which include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue -- please seek medical advice/attention immediately.

Update (9/08/09 @ 19:45): We've just been getting reports all day about #paxflu sicknesses but we've just received notification that Matt Lefferts of Runic Games has tested positive for the virus. According to our source at Runic, the infected employee feels worse than he ever has before and started feeling sick on Sunday.

Ten years ago, the launch of EverQuest arguably changed the gaming industry forever. Its combination of gameplay, story and cosmetic appeal was precisely what gamers had been waiting for and would soon be the inspiration for many great, and some not so great games to come. Over the years, Sony Online Entertainment has released a number of subsequent EverQuest games set in the world of Norrath; most notable of which being EverQuest Online Adventures and EverQuest II. While both titles continue to retain an active player-base, lately "Will there be an EverQuest III?" has been an increasingly popular subject. Keep reading for official confirmation that "EverQuest Next" is in development.
